To protect our customer data, firewalls prevent network access to the database server until access is explicitly granted based on IP address or virtual network traffic origin. We have extensive and comprehensive access management through application of authentication and authorisation rules. We apply row-level security for our customers, allowing them access to their own data for reporting and query purposes. We apply Advanced Threat Protection to detect unusual behaviour and potentially harmful attempts to access or exploit databases. Alerts are created for suspicious activities. We further protect customer data by encrypting data in motion with (SSL/TLS) at all times for all connections. We further apply Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) thereby adding a layer of security to help protect data at rest from unauthorized or offline access to raw files or backups.
We offer a fully managed relational database with built-in regional high availability and turnkey geo-replication to any region on demand. We include intelligence to support self-driving features such as performance tuning, threat monitoring, and vulnerability assessments and provide fully automated patching and updating of the code base. Our databases are backed up every 5 - 10 minutes and we can offer point-in-time restoration to exactly this accuracy. Our service provider gives us a guaranteed uptime of 99.95% and, in the event of catastrophic failure we offer auto-failure to a mirrored service in another region. Our servers are entirely UK based, we use two different different service centres.
We can offer individual databases for our users which can reside on our servers or they can be implemented on your own servers.
